A paste adhesive is a one- or two-part resin system based from epoxy, urethane or a hybrid of the two. Used for bonding aircraft substrates, they offer good resistance against materials and conditions found on aircraft build and operation. Paste adhesives exhibit high shear strength in excess of 1,000psi and good environmental resistance at room temperature. They can be used between -55°C to 85°C (-67°F to 185°F).
Applications for paste adhesives are typically found within bonding, whether for general purpose or structural usage. They are also effective when used for liquid shimming or void filling. Paste adhesives typically find usage in MRO operations.
