Polyurethane Tapes

Polyurethane protective tapes (PPT) are used on surfaces that need protection from the elements. This can be the aircraft belly, leading edges, wings, landing gear and helicopter blades. PPT are required on military aircrafts to protect the aircraft against harsh landing environments where rocks and sand often fly up and damage the hull. 

As the PPT tapes are strong, tear resistant and contain no hazardous chemicals they are often used in the above situations. Consistency across areas can also be obtained due to their coatings being evenly distributed wh ere as applying liquid protective coating can be inconsistent across the area. Best of all the PPT tapes do not require specifications. There are different thickness, width and length requirements however there isn't a certain tape for a particular spec.
