MN01 and MN02 neutralisers should be applied directly after marking. The component should firstly be dried with a CLEAN tissue, then the correct neutraliser for the electrolyte used (See electrolyte label or electrolyte product sheet) applied to a FRESH, CLEAN tissue and carefully wiped over the marked area and any part of the component where the electrolyte has come into contact. Finally wipe the neutralised area with a dry CLEAN tissue. MD1 de-watering oil can be used for further protection if required.
NEVER use a cloth to apply the neutraliser or dry the component after marking. Electrolyte picked up on the cloth can be re-deposited onto the component again causing corrosion or staining. For immersion neutralisers, see product sheet for MN04.
